The Orange Scapers: Enrico Fortuna and the aquarium for experienced users

Today we begin by introducing Enrico Fortuna with an aquarium by Gaia Italia as part of The Orange Scapers.

Extra-clear crystal aquarium 100x55x50 by Gaia Italia, 1cm thick.

First layer
sprinkling of Bio-Soil; consisting of specific bacteria and enzymes, it promotes the rapid establishment of a correct Nitrogen cycle. Bio-Soil, promotes the mineralisation of organic substances on the bottom, making them more available to plant organisms. It comprises various cultures of selected bacteria dispersed in special carbons.

Second layer
placement of Vigor Plus, respecting the spaces of the Hardscape that will be formed; it is a biological enrichment substrate, it is a mixture of organic and inorganic materials with high porosity, Vigor Plus allows gas exchange and water circulation within the substrate. In addition, the presence of clay minerals and humified organic matter gives Vigor Plus a high capacity for cation exchange, allowing all the minerals needed by the plants to be transported inside the substrate, where, thanks to the bacteria present in the Bio-Soil, remineralisation will take place, making everything bio-available to the plant roots.

Third layer
placement of Bio-Soil Caps, a mixture of selected bacterial cultures of Nitrosomonas Spp., Nitrobacter Spp. and facultative Bacillus Anaerobi dispersed in pure sand. Which, being enclosed in capsules, will have a gradual and constant release over time. Reaching even the surface layer of the substrate in a short time, which is particularly useful for foreground plants, which have an underdeveloped root system. the bacterial colonisation of the surface substrate guarantees optimum Redox potential.

Fourth layer
cover everything with fine Terranera, a soil of tropical origin that gives the aquarium bottom the optimal physical characteristics for root activity. Terranera also contains numerous micro and macro nutrients. Thanks to its very high exchange capacity, it is able to absorb various cations from the water, including: Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Ammonium, and others, slowly returning them to the plant roots and thus promoting healthy, lush growth.
The last step is to set up the layout by placing woods and stones according to your design.
