Aquascapers Roberto Bielli and Enrico Fortuna
are ready for the year 2017 with two new and special projects, respectively on wabikusa tank set-up and specific nano-aquarium set-up.
Under the direction of Mauro Calabrese ownmanager of Equo
the two aquascapers will engage in an in-depth study of the management, set-up and fertilisation of these two types of tanks that are attracting so much interest in aquascaping communities around the world.
Through close collaboration with the Company, we will create a line of specific, professional products that are perfect for both beginners and super-experts.
Through our blog we will see their set-ups grow together, step by step, accompanied by precise explanations and curiosities, as well as (which is very rare) it will be possible to witness any errors and how to correct them, a typical situation for every aquarist, whether novice or experienced.
Imagine yourself living a live, interactive experience, where you will experience all the updates, growth and individual steps.
There will also be a chance to interact with the two Aquascapers, through our channels.

NANO AQUASCAPING PROJECT by Enrico Fortuna
The project envisages the creation of three aquariums measuring 35x28x30cm (standard size), through the experimentation of specific products for nano aquariums, easy to dose, set up and run, ideal for any type of layout and management.
There will be a specific line for the fund, consisting of:
° A formula of bacteria and enzymes mixed with the purest sand elements.
° A fertile substrate consisting of ultra-porous materials, minerals and slow-release organic components; it helps to increase the fertility of the substrate, creating the best environmental conditions for the development of the plant root system. Thanks to a mixture of highly porous organic and inorganic materials, VIGOR allows gas exchange and water circulation within the substrate. In addition, the presence of clay minerals and humified organic matter provides a high cation exchange capacity.
°The use of a very porous, extra-fine Allofane soil, specifically for rooting small seedlings such as Hemianthus Callitrichoides, Eleocharis Parvula, Glossostigma Elatinoides…
°A simple and straightforward fertilisation line, precise in dosage and balanced in concentrations; specially designed for the various phases of tank set-up and growth.
We will start step by step, from the composition of the substrate to the structuring of the layout, from the planting phase to the growth phase, every single phase will be shown and analysed, showing strengths, possible mistakes, small tricks to facilitate the various phases.
Any errors will not be hidden or omitted, but rather will be studied in order to find solutions.

WATER WABIKUSA AQUASCAPING PROJECT by Roberto Bielli
Wabikusa, a Japanese word, difficult to translate into our language, denotes something aesthetically beautiful, natural chaotic (as in Wabi-sabi). ‘Kusa’ means ‘grass’ So ‘Wabi-kusa’ could be defined with the concept of nature in motion, of the harmony and beauty of nature. The term therefore cannot be translated or described in any other words than ‘wabi-kusa’.
Its artistic denotation has been gaining ground in recent years in aquascaping, which is still little known and developed in Italy, but in time we hope to spread this culture.
The project in question does not involve the realisation of the canonical ‘wabikusa’ grown on keto bread, but rather the realisation of an aquascaping where the submerged part, intertwines and connects with the emerged part, creating a single composition, a constantly changing being, dominated by the orderly chaos produced by the explosiveness of the aquatic plants in the emerged, and the fluidity of the submerged plants.
All this, of course, topped off with a dedicated hardscape.
The realisation will be cultivated with the help of specific fertilisation protocols.
